HI! I’m Alyssa.
I was a loofah last Halloween …but don’t call me that.
I currently reside in Virginia Beach with my black lab, Chloe.
I run a lot and just completed my first marathon, The Marine Corps Marathon, in Washington D.C.
And I consider brownie batter, wine, and smiles the perfect diet (hey, one’s calorie free).
I’m a (mostly) healthy girl with unhealthy obsession with sparkles, online shopping, and ridiculous costumes.
I thoroughly enjoy family time, pretending I have gigantic muscles, and Chris Brown music.
I’m a Team Refuel runner and Love Grown Foods Blogger. Let’sbehonest, chocolate milk and granola are all I need.
My blog is meant to capture all that is blyssful in my life. From great runs to my adventures in nutrition to “interesting” adventures, I kinda cover it all.
So gimme a ring if you need some sass, enthusiasm, wine glasses, a Disney song, or a good laugh. Or an inordinate amount of Anchorman/Wedding Crashers/Stepbrothers quotes.
I’m always down to lend all of the above.

Hey Alyssa! When did you graduate Catawba and when did you move to Virginia Beach? I graduated from William and Mary in 2009 and work for Amerigroup Corporation. Now I’m taking a new position with the company in Tampa! Ha, I’m actually is North Carolina in a hotel right now actually lol
I graduated from Catawba in May 2010.. a little over a year ago! I have a few friends who work for Amerigroup here.. small world!

Your Ke$ha costume reminds me of my Alice Cooper costume. Although most people didn’t get it…
As I was reading this, I couldn’t help but thinking, “Okay, this girl seems pretty cool, I think I’ll subscribe to her blog,” but when I got to the Jesse McCartney part…I couldn’t help me freak out a little, only because I can relate so much, hahaha. My cousin and I discovered Jesse when he was on All My Children years ago, and that’s when I started buying everything Dream Street, signing up for his fan club, searching for concerts in the area. Ah..embarrassing, haha.

ahh, I’ve heard from so many people that they loved it but will never do it again. I’m glad to hear of someone who liked it enough to put themselves through it all over agian!

I LOVE your blog!! I am a 29 year old, full time working mom of two (10 and 5), who loves Carbs and WINE!!! I quit smoking just about a year ago and ran my first half marathon this year. WOW, what an addiction!! My next run is a maddening 6K with 10 military style obstacles, super excited about it. I have the largest team for the event so far

I’ve never commented so I just wanted to let you know how much I adore your blog and want to be bffs! Weird? Sorry. No really, though, it’s blogs like yours that have inspired me to do things like finally sign up for the marathon I’ve been going back and forth on, and realize that other people go through shitty breakups too, and want to even start up my own blog again!
Glad I found somebody else who also loves really awesome music…aka J.Bieb, Ke$ha, and old school boy bands. I don’t understand why peeps be hatin on our music all the time!

I just recently came across your blog site and absolutely love it! it’s encouraging and funny. I used to be a runner (almost physcotic) but experienced a broken hip and have had a hard time getting back into it. I know being the ripe old age of 26, a broken hip is un heard of…the real trouble with that was that it was a few years ago so that makes it even worse. short distances are usually fine, anything under 9 or 10 miles but i struggle with anything over. I have most recently gotten a puppy who really helps, her and I are on what i call 2-a-days….she loves it and it gets me going. So reading all of your blogs is very encouraging and i really enjoy this site as most days, I need a kick in the butt to get going so I just wanted to say Thank you. I have only every ran 5ks but am working towards a half marathon at the end of the summer and would LOVE LOVE LOVE to be able to do a full so we will see.
