As you’re reading this, I’m having my second (and final, let’s hope..) surgery. I’ll be back soon, don’t you worry.
In the meantime, ‘ll leave you with a preview of how Sunday’s Shamrock Half Marathon went:

We wore tutus.

My quads hurt. And my toesies hurt. My belly is full.
…More on all that later.

They have super cute tutus like that at Target right now in the kids section – the L and XL fit me great – I love running in tutus !

You are amazing-running before surgery! you are my inspiration! i would have curled up in a ball the day before and sucked down ice cream and oreos to numb the thought of surgery. hope everything went well!
welllll, I may or may not have had fro yo the day before AND day of surgery.
it totally numbs the pain.
Hope your surgery went well! And your tutu is too too fabulous

You girls look so great in your green shirts and tu-tus! Love it!
Hey Alyssa! Congrats on the run!! You have inspired me to get my first skin check. I kept putting it off for quite some time because I guess that I was afraid of what I might find. Your story inspired me to just go now because its better to be safe than sorry! I was wondering if you could tell me what to expect at the check up?
I’m so glad you’re getting checked out, Katie!
It really depends entirely on the dermatologist. In my experience, I got to undress, put on a paper gown, and she just did a quick once-over my whole body. she circled the spots she thought looked risky and scraped them off with a little razor blade (initially, no big deal at all). when they came back as cancerous, I had to schedule surgery quickly. they couldn’t take all of it out at once, so I had two separate surgeries.
good luck!
