thinkThin® thinkWellness Bar Giveaway

February 16, 2012 · 240 comments

I know you’ve seen thinkThin Bars floating around the healthy living blogosphere a lot lately.

Soooo.. I’m hoping you can get excited about some more, because I’m taking part in the thinkWellness campaign.

These bars are absolutely delicious. You need to try them.

They speak to me. Naturally sweet and a little nutty? C’mon… this has my name all over it.

And thinkThin has a bar for every different kind of taste you may be craving.

There’s soft protein bars like cookies and creme, peanut butter, and caramel fudge. They have crunchy white chocolate dipped mixed nuts and caramel chocolate dipped mixed nuts. And there’s some crunchy fruit and nut bars such as blueberry & mixed nuts and cranberry apple & mixed nuts.

Seriously. And that’s not all the flavors.. that’s just what I’ve gotten to try. They have a myriad of flavors on their thinkThin website.

With how rich the thinkThin bars are, you would never know you’re eating something with such impressive nutritional stats. These bars are a great healthy way to get your chocolate or peanut butter fix.

All high protein, no to low sugar, and gluten free.

Know what I want to try? The bites. They look perfect for when I just need a little snacky snack and don’t need a full mini meal.

Oh, and by the way, thinkThin bars are a part of my nutrition plan. Talk about perfect, huh? ;)

Thank you for that one, Jim.

Guess what? TEN of you can win a Weight Wellness Sampler of 2 thinkThin® Protein Bars & 2 thinkThin® Crunch Bars.

Are you psyched? ‘Cause you should be. These things are delicious.

To enter into the thinkThin® thinkWellness Giveaway*, you must:

  1. Like Think Products on Facebook
  2. Follow @thinkproducts on Twitter
  3. Tell me in a comment how you create Wellness in your life. How would thinkThin bars contribute to your weight wellness?

Since all are required for the thinkWellness initiative, only one comment is necessary to enter.

*Open to U.S. residents only

Good luck! The giveaway will last until Wednesday, February 22: thinkThin® Weight Wellness Wednesday! I will randomly select 10 winners then.

I do my best at working out about 5 days a weeks, even though I’m an accountant and it’s busy season! Working crazy hours and working out of town at a client every other week makes eating healthy sometimes difficult, especially when my coworkers order the delicious yet super unhealthy menu items, but if I had a bar to grab it would assist in my healthy eating goals!

I try to keep snacks in my bag so I don’t get so crazy hungry I make a bad decision. I have been loving almonds, but these bars would be a perfect way to have a complete nutritional powerhouse to snack on if the urge strikes.

I create wellness by creating a balance of healthy thinking, mindful eating and exercising regularly. I pack my lunches and snacks for the day so I’m not picking up food that would most likely not be the healthiest options. I ALWAYS carry some form of protein bars with me that I can grab in a pinch and they’re perfect because they don’t have to be refrigerated. I’ve been meaning to try the thinkthin bars because I’ve noticed most other protein bars have a ridiculous amount of sugar and unnecessary calories for a snack. Then again it’s all about balance, so having some chocolate in the thinkthin bars seems a-ok to me ;).

Just a heads up: ThinkThink bars can lead to some nasty GI probs. Even though they are gluten free, we have studied them here at UVa and 80% of those who ate them had some problems (diarrhea, gas, etc). Anecdotally, I’ve also had problems with the bars. The only reason I am saying so is to make sure that you research what you endorse first. I love reading your blog but giving away something that could potentially hurt or bother someone could mean trouble

Sorry, forgot to mention that the sample was a group of endurance athletes (marathon runners like you, triathletes). It is hypothesized that the maltitol (sweetener) used in the the bars was the culprit. The bars could be fine for those who don’t exercise consistently or often (but I’m assuming most of your readers do). In response to questions about GI problems, ThinkThin has posted this on their website (http://thinkproducts.com/products/faq):

“Can maltitol result in gastrointestinal issues or discomfort? Popular sugar alcohol sweeteners include maltitol. Maltitol sweeteners are made through a fermentation process of corn or sugar cane. They contain fewer calories than sweeteners like pure sugar and honey. Sensitivity to maltitol is individual.”

Saying that sensitivity is individual is an easy way to talk around the problem. Endurance athletes or those training should not eat them. I won’t again.

I create wellness in my life by working out 6x a week and eating healthy and in moderation. For fun, I like to run half marathons and hope to complete a full soon. Think Thin bars will help fuel my body after workouts so that I don’t raid the refridgerator and spoil a good workout!

I like on facebook :) These are yummy and I already do eat them – after doing some very thorough nutrition info research in the nutrition bar aisle…. i try to cook all of my meals but it’s nice to have a backup that’s actually nutritious.

i create wellness by trying to eat a balanced diet. i don’t focus on calories or fat i just make sure i am eating whole/real foods. i think these would be great for when i am on the go! i currently decided to go back to school, so i don’t have as much time to prepare meals and snack in my car a lot. this would be great!

I would LOVE to try these out. I work two jobs currently, so finding time to eat healthy, well balanced meals is tricky. These seem great for on the go!

These look like a great, healthy snack! Besides eating well, I work out regularly and have signed up for my first 2 half marathons and a Tough Mudder this year!

To me, wellness is having a happy and healthy lifestyle. I create wellness by running and practicing yoga. My workouts keep me going and allow me to relax and unwind so I can live the happiest and healthiest life possible :)

I create wellness by being positive and organized with everything in life. I try to do healthy and beneficial things for my body as well as indulge every now and then. I absolutely love thinkThin bars. They work perfectly for my golf tournaments whenever I don’t have time for a full meal.

I love these things! YUmmy!! I think they would contribute to my goal by giving me a healthy snack when I don’t have time to prepare something :) I’m in college so things are go-go-go! This is a perfect post workout snack to tide me over between lunch and dinner!

I would LOVE to try these out! I’m always running around on campus trying to get from one place to another and even though I try to do my body good and choose healthy foods it’s not always possible. I would LOVE to have think thin bars to drag around with me and keep me on track :)
