Neosporin, Funnies, & Giveaway Winners

The stitches are gooooonneee!

Fun Fact: Remember when I was told last week I couldn’t run for the rest of the time my stitches were in because they were getting red and irritated? It turns out I have an allergy to Neosporin.

original via

Have you ever heard of such a thing?! Apparently, we grossly overuse Neosporin for everything, which can lead to an immunity to the cream. And now my body resists its healing effects and breaks out in a rash.

To avoid this, use Aquaphor. It’s like a Vaseline with healing agents in it (and if you can’t find Aquaphor, Vaseline works, too).

And there’s your lesson for the day.

And since you know I never teach you anything without providing a giggle or two, allow me to share some quality damnyouautocorrects I haven’t seen before. My friend Maggie sent these to me, and I feel like it’s pretty rare I find new ones.

I mean… if it meant I got a unicorn, I’d probably become a cop, too.

And finally, the winners of the thinkThin® thinkWellness Bar Giveaway:

Congratulations to Calee, Kaitlin, Dorsa, Nicole, Chelsea, Nadine, Kelly, Bri, Haley, and Kelly! Please e-mail me at with your mailing address so you can receive your box of thinkThin bars from thinkProducts!

I’m excited for you guys. I just ate my last one, and it was a sad, sad day.

question: how long did it take you to make the image of all the pics & winner’s comments? 5 hours? 10?

16, actually.

hahah.. I just hate listing them all one by one. it takes up so much room!

Photoshop actually makes it easypeasy because I can just drag the screenshots in one by one and place them on a blank image. I wanted to leave it out and just list the winners, but I always feel like I need proof I didn’t just pick favorites. ;)

The unicorn one still has me cracking up. Thanks Alyssa :-)
On another note, my phone autocorrects your name to Alaska. It also wants to capitalize Autocorrect.

I so don’t understand DYAC. I can understand typing fast and sending a word wrong once I guess. But repeatedly? Do people not realize they can edit their words? C’mon now!

Nothing, and I mean NOTHING, makes me laugh like a good DYAC.

I’d do bad things to have my very own unicorn.

19 Blakely February 22, 2012 at 8:17 pm

I found out in a similar way that I had a neosporin allergy too! You can also use polysporin in addition to the things you listed.

Bahaha, those autocorrects are grrrreat. Also, I HAVE heard of being allergic to neosporin, so I use polysporin instead (I guess it doesn’t have the irritating ingredient?)

SO weird you were allergic to neosporin all this time!!! YOU FREAK…. bahaha see you tomorrow let Chloe be my guide

23 Alyssa @ Life of bLyss February 23, 2012 at 1:35 pm

I KNOW. haaha. cya at 4:50?

24 Erin February 23, 2012 at 1:04 am

I’m surprised your derm didn’t warn you about this. I had a basal cell carcinoma removed in the summer, and they told me to use polysporin. I asked why and they told me a lot of people are allergic to neo. Hope you’re feeling much better :)

25 Alyssa @ Life of bLyss February 23, 2012 at 1:35 pm

very weird. at least i know now!

26 Lauren @ Chocolate, Cheese and Wine February 23, 2012 at 2:17 pm

OMG – I’m allergic to Neosporin too. Actually, it’s Neomycin that I’m allergic to which means I cannot use neosporin. How annoying
