Chocolate milk is so great for your recovering body post-workout. It contains the right mix of carbs and protein to refuel muscles after a tough workout, repairs and builds muscles, rehydrates and replaces electrolytes, and has 9 essential nutrients. It never ceases to amaze me how few people know these facts.
Chocolate milk naturally has many of the nutrients most commercial recovery drinks add in the lab (high-quality protein and key electrolytes like calcium, potassium, sodium and magnesium). I’m always saying to my friends, “No, seriously. Drink chocolate milk after your workout.”
Which leads me to why I owe you guys big time.
When I first stumbled upon the Refuel with Chocolate Milk page, I was immediately intrigued. Ever since college, I’ve had to have chocolate milk after I work out. I consider it my #1 “refuel.”
When I read about Team Refuel, I got one of those, “heeey… I feel at home over here.” feelings. Know what I mean? Kinda?
And then I realized I could join the badassery of Team Refuel. And, ya know, chill with Mr. Ohno.
I didn’t have high expectations.. I kinda figured “Eh, what the heck. I may as well try.”
Try, I did. I applied, and I asked you guys to vote. And I know you did, because yesterday, the following appeared in my inbox:
