Still Sore.

Well.. I wasn’t kidding when I said I’d be sore for a while after Thursday’s fitness class.

What do you get when you put together my Friday night, a Jane Fonda foam roller, and a UPS hat?

Hurts so good!

My Friday night.


Suits me, right?

That would be Jamie‘s foam roller and Danny’s UPS hat. And I’m still foam rolling.

When I woke up on Friday, I was a little worried about running on my poor little legs. I busted out a painful 7 on the treadmill, worried I wouldn’t get in my weekly mileage.

Pain.

Needless to say, Saturday didn’t feel so awesome. I contemplated skipping my long run altogether, but my friend Seth called to propose a 6 mile run through one of Virginia Beach’s beautiful parks. I couldn’t say no. And he promised we’d go slow.

I easily forget that Seth’s short twitch muscle fibers make “slow” equal a 6:35-8:00/mile pace. On sore legs. On a trail run.

My legs hate me.

He’s training for a run/swim/run race, so after our run, I walked along the beach timing his swim.

There he is!

After these activities, it was time to rope up the pup and head for my parent’s house.

Where I can make the best omelets ever.

There’s five egg whites, shredder fat free cheddar, asparagus, onion, and garlic powder in that jitty.

git in mah bellay!

The rest of the weekend involved some cross-training…

breast stroke. cause I don’t have goggles and I want an arm workout.

You don’t have to tell me I look good. I already know.

I must get it from her.

And after refueling with the best pizza ever…

I crave this thing. All the time.

Wild mushroom pizza with truffle oil… uuggh, so good.

Look who decided he wanted to learn how to make a sneaky chocolate green monster?

Daddio did.

This chocoholic has been trying to sneak in his greens, and he wanted to know my sneaky ways. He stocked up on all the ingredients in the grocery store, and last night, we got to work.

Ingredients for this chocolate-covered strawberry green monster included:

  • one big handful spinach
  • 3/4 cups chocolate silk
  • 2 tbsp dark chocolate cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp xanthan gum
  • 1/2 scoop Nectar chocolate truffle protein powder
  • 6 strawberries
  • 7 ice cubes

= a recipe for a happy daddy.

Father approved.

He even shared.

After the allergist, this little bear and I are headed home to Virginia Beach.

Don’t make me go back.

I want to start making protein smoothies! I’m always so bland and only use milk and protein powder.

Good heavens that is so fast on trials. I would have been like umm…I’ll catch up bahaha. I tried to get my father to eat some of my food and he refused and was completely straight up about it lamesauce.

I swam a few laps yesterday and swear that I need to get back on the swimming train. Holy great workout!! However, I wonder if I can find a chic swimming cap somewhere? Something pink with polka dots would be preferrable…..hmmmm….
