I Get It Now. [+ Giveaway Winner!]

July 6, 2011 · 42 comments

There were a whole lotta things I just didn’t get a few months ago. My pantry only saw the likes of Dannon Light ‘N Fit yogurt, Peter Pan peanut butter, and canned soup.

I’ve seen the light. I get it now.

“Oats in a Jar.” Get in my belly.

Quinoa, you have made me love salads for dinner again.

Quinoa strawberry summer salad

I’m so sneaky with spinach in unpredictable places.

Greek yogurt. Tubs of it. It’s my lunch. Every. Day.

fruity chocolatey yogurt bowl. gimme.

And, of course, my peanut butter taste has vastly matured.

Homemade maple almond butter? Done.

A love affair with Naturally More peanut butter? Yup.

And, my most recent discovery . . .

It really is that wonderful. You guys don’t lie.

I get it now. I do.

I wasn’t so impressed with Peanut Butter & Co.’s Dark Chocolate Dreams peanut butter. After hearing all the hype about this White Chocolate Wonderful variety, I had to snag it when I finally saw it at my grocery store.

I love it. It tastes like a white chocolate Reece’s Cup.

…and this happened in the checkout line.

Was I curious? Yes. Was I starving? Yeah. Was I judged?

Most likely.

I was quite the picture in Walmart yesterday. I got caught in a downpour in my white sundress. And I discovered my (what used to be) naturally straight hair does interesting things now.

didn’t… you used to be straight?

I’m starting a new look. It’s the “I drowned in my sundress” look. Feel free to sport it to your local Walmarts, too.

I’ll stop jabbering now. I know this is what you’re waiting for.

I know what you’re thinking. I cheated and chose her because she’s a running idol of mine, because she gave me her marathon training schedule to follow, because I love her, and because she called me gorgeous.

Hey, it’s a likely story, but the truth is in the Random Number Generator. Anyway, if I cheated, I probably would have made Jamie win so I wouldn’t have to pay any postage.

That’s for you, Janae. All you do is win today.

The runners-up were all randomly chosen my the same number generator and will receive $4.00 off a box of Gotein include Coco, Tiffany, and Jill.

Congrats, girls! Please e-mail me at alyssa@lifeofblyss.com with your address so I can pump you up with some Gotein.

The world can thank me in a few weeks for all the ripped girls we’re about to have.

This post speaks to me on a deeper level. When I “crossed over” & discovered foods that didn’t say “diet” or “low fat” on them, and yet were actually healthier, it was like a whole new world (Aladdin style).
Quinoa is my new staple. And no foodie would judge you for having a peanut butter finger in line πŸ˜‰

BAHHAHAHAH I was hoping you’d cheat for me. 1. MY HAIR HAS BEEN DOING THAT TOO! My pin straight hair! I swear it’s the beach humidity. 2. I miss you. I’m bored at the gym and was sad when I switched my headphones to the TV for mean..then back to my ipod. No one to giggle with.

I am a loser. Just kiddin πŸ˜‰

I LOVE quinoa salads! Love love love! It is amazing how my eating has changed over the past year or so, I hear ya! My grocery store better have that white chocolate peanut butter business…it looks awesome. I want it bad.

I am pretty sure we have the exact same hair. Straight, thin, flat (sorry, yours is very attractively flat), and a LOT of it?! Mine has recently started doing a little rain wave as well…what gives?

Have fun with Katelyn tonight. You are hilarious and I laughed for about 5 minutes about the wet hair+sun dress+Walmart. God knows I have gone to Walmart in downtown Portsmouth at nightime sporting some interesting looks and almost uh not coming home. Got to love pit stops on the way back from Norfolk.

I think you’re no-longer-naturally-straight hair looks great!

Also, you cannot, I repeat, cannot go wrong with any combination of white chocolate and peanut butter. Nope, never.

I want to talk about why your hair is not only naturally straight but gets rained on and comes out in perfect summer time waves. Wanna trade for my afro?

your hair looks so good a la naturale! i gave up on trying to straighten mine. it’s no use. my chi hasn’t seen the light of day in about a year.

glad you crossed over to the white chocolate wonderful dark side πŸ˜‰ I don’t know how I survived so long without it either. My bf doesn’t understand and always says, “can’t you buy JIF? It’s the same thing” to which I wrinkle my nose and say, “ew. IT IS NOT THE SAME”. Such a pb snob now. Same with greek yogurt…I can never let that other stuff cross my lips again.

I got some of that white chocolate peanut butter from Alyssa @ www. fashionfitnessfoodie.wordpress.com and I am OBSESSED. I ration it out like it’s a jar of gold. Which let’s be honest here, it is. I can’t get it at my grocery store so until I find a source it’s a tsp a day for me.

Yo man, your hair looks fantastic despite the humidity and rain. πŸ˜›

Isn’t White Chocolate Wonderful, well, wonderful!?! It’s my favorite. I actually really love their Bees Knees (honey), too. The dark chocolate isn’t my favorite either…

And that picture of your almond butter in the processor? Totally thought it was a candle in the middle of your almonds at first glance. LOL
